Description
We were hired by the consulting engineer representing the NYC Department of Buildings. Giando on the Water is a unique location because the owner owns the land where the building is located but does not own the outdoor deck on the water. This area is owned by the NYC DOB and leases it to the tenant. Over time the outdoor deck has begun to slope towards the East River. The NYC DOB hired the consulting engineer to determine the cause for the sloping. We were hired to do ASTM C1583 testing to determine the bond strength of the concrete deck. We did 20 tests over various locations of the deck and put together a report of our finding for our client.
