A new tenant was renovating the 42nd and 43rd floors.  We were hired to do pull testing for the new finished ceiling.  All the building in Rockefeller center are very complex to anchor into and should always require pull testing.  This is because of a wide range of substrates which can vary from prewar solid concrete, cindercrete, ashcrete, red terracotta to hollow block.  At this project we tested the Hilti X-CX ALH Ceiling Clip With Nail and a DeWalt .300” Head Drive Pins with Ceiling Clip.  The DeWalt .300” performed the best.
